Description

KIRRA - ITEA FOKIDAS STORE 57 sq.m. in the center of the market and the city. This is a well-kept modern ground floor store within walking distance of the sea and the port of the area. It is corner, bright, airy with large windows and awnings that cover the front semi-open space, with three entrances and excellent access from central roads which also serve excellent commercial, tourist and travel transport in all directions. There is full equipment for operating a health store, but there is the possibility of using the space as an office of various specialties, such as, but not limited to, a doctor's office, an accounting or technical office, commercial and service stores, such as hair salons, beauty service stores and a pharmacy. The rent does not include the use of equipment for which a specific agreement will be made. Kirra is a historical, coastal settlement in the prefecture of Phocis, built east of Itea, with which it now forms a single urban complex. It belongs administratively to the Municipality of Delphi and has 1,392 permanent residents, according to the 2021 Census. It has easy access to Galaxidi, Itea, Amfissa, Chrissos, Delphi, Arachova and the ski resorts of Parnassos. In antiquity, it was a very important port of Phocis and the Gulf of Corinth. More specifically, ancient Kirra is located in the Gulf of Itea, at the exit of the Pleistos River valley to the Gulf of Corinth, in the modern settlement of Xeropigado. References to the city are made by Homer (Krisa), Alcaeus (Kirsa) and Strabo (Kirra). The area of Kirra was inhabited since the Early Helladic period, with particular flourishing in the Middle Helladic and decline during the Late Helladic. At the end of the 6th century BC a large sanctuary was founded, while later the area was fortified and developed into an important port of the Corinthian Gulf, which functioned as a seaport for Delphi and Amfissa. The city continued to be inhabited in Byzantine times as well as during the Latin occupation, as evidenced by the port facilities and the medieval tower in the coastal zone of Itea and present-day Kirra.
